Horseshoe Bend Elopement Shoot

Updated: May 28, 2020

This has got to be one of my favorite shoots ever! I knew that the views in this location were going to be the real star of the show, and I enjoyed creating something that would stand out, but not take away from this glorious backdrop.

When designing the flowers I wanted them to feel both earthy, and bridal. I knew the white roses would pop and be stunning on the red rock, and also felt appropriate for the formal wedding attire. I used subdued greens, and even foraged some local succulents to use in this bouquet. Then I wanted to bring in some of the red rock feel with the red-pink protea and the sunset alstroemeria. And lastly for a little dried dessert feel I added in some pampas grass and scabbiosa pods.

This shoot was featured on the Rocky Mountain Bride blog...and you can see what the photographer Bri Ellis said about it here. Such an honor to be featured by their blog. *Welling up with tears.*

You want to know one of my favorite things about this shoot? Our gorgeous models got engaged just a few months after this...and have asked me to be the florist for their wedding! What a huge honor and pleasure it is for me to work with them! I can't wait to see more beautiful florals with these two!
